OUR STORY
Our first date
"Hey, if you are free on February 14th by any chance, do you want to check out the Canary Wharf ice skating rink? I was going to go by myself but thought I'd ask you just in case." Chris casually dropped this 'definitely not a date' bombshell, setting the stage for me to gracefully faceplant the moment I set foot on the rink. Picture a clumsy baby deer taking its first wobbly steps-that was me. My lack of coordination turned the evening into a sidesplitting comedy, filled with jokes, playful teasing, and, of course, Chris's gallant hand holding to prevent me from turning into a human snowball (I'll gladly take the teasing for that). The night ended with a dinner where we hilariously duked it out over the bill.
The proposal
Greek island hopping had been my ultimate vacation dream for a long time. When we finally touched down in picturesque Mykonos after some travel hiccups, I was spellbound by our hotel's stunning view of the turquoise sea, golden beaches stretching for miles, and charming white houses perched on rugged cliffs. Little did I know, Chris had a secret agenda all mapped out to the last minute and a box he guarded like a treasure chest. A magical day exploring Mykonos town led to a sunset serenade, our hotel room transformed into a romantic haven with flickering candles and rose petals. Then came a question I thought I knew the answer to all along. He may have missed the whole one knee tradition and the ring finger ritual, but in that enchanting moment, all was forgiven.
